The below information was sent out by the City of London Police;
All UAV’s / Drones are banned in the City of London, and most of London in general due to the flight paths for City airport and security. Drones can be flown with strict restrictions if permission is obtained from the Civil Aviation Authority, although this is normally only for surveying work or professional filming and the CoLP would normally be notified of any scheduled drone flights to take place.
Therefore if you do observe any drones flying around the City, then I would advise you to contact the Police immediately so that we can assess the situation and attempt to locate the pilot and their intention. Any reports of illegal drone use will normally prompt a physical police response, with a patrol deployed to try and locate the Pilot.
