The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run is challenging people to keep running through the winter by taking on a 10km run.
This year’s event is a sell out and over 16,000 people are expected to fill the streets making their way past London’s most iconic landmarks to raise vital funds to help beat cancer sooner. The route will have designated cheering points / activation’s along the route.
Key timings:
2:30pm – Pall Mall East road
5:00pm – Whitehall, TSQ area and Strand
8:00pm – Aldwych and city road closures
9:30pm – Race start (waves)
12:35pm – Last runner finishes
1:45pm – Majority of roads re-open (see plan)
4:30pm – All roads reopen
Local businesses and residents have been informed of the event by letter drop and personal visits. Specific plans have been put into place where appropriate and requested (National Gallery, St Clements Dane Church) to ensure crossing points and routes are pre-advertised to staff / audiences etc.
