The below information was sent by the MPS for sharing;
Arsenal are playing Red Star Belgrade this evening in the Europa League. This is a 20.05 hrs kick off.
Police have received information from Belgrade suggesting that Red Star supporters from Serbia, the UK and across Europe, intend on coming to London to attend this game. The allocation for away supporters for this game is 3,000, all of which have been sold. Police however expect some Red Star supporters to travel into London without tickets to meet up with friends and family and to be ‘part of the day’.
Information has been received which indicates that the majority of Red Star supporters intend to meet in central London and march as one group to the Emirates in Islington. The location of the initial meeting place has not been confirmed, but it is likely to be Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly. It is likely that they will move off at around 3.30pm to 4.00 pm, as they intend on reaching the stadium at around 5.45 pm – 6.00pm.
These supporters carried out a similar march when they visited Cologne 3 weeks ago. During that march they ignited a number of flares and pyrotechnics, so it is highly likely that this may occur this evening.
Police are aware of the march and are attempting to speak with the leader of the fan groups. Police will accompany the march and will deal with any issues as they occur. It is expected that roads around the route of the march will become congested which may lead to some confrontation between drivers and marchers.
