On Friday 25th July, the Royal Marines will be marching through the City of London with drums beating, colours flying and bayonets fixed to commemorate the 350th Anniversary of their formation at Bunhill Row.
The march will start at 12pm from the Honourable Artillery Company in City Road and conclude at the Guildhall.
It will follow the following route:
- City Road
- Finsbury Pavement
- Princess Street
- Bank Junction
- King Street
Road closures will be in place along the route from 11.50am. The procession is expected to last about 30 minutes and roads will be re-opened once the procession has passed and it is safe to do so. There will be a number of road closures in the roads off Bank Junction to allow the procession to pass, but these will be kept to a minimum.
No buses are being diverted but there will be a delays to services during the procession.
In addition the Royal Marines will have a display of their current vehicles, craft and weapons in Aldermanbury, adjacent to the Guildhall. Aldermanbury will be closed to vehicles from 7am – 6pm, however there will still be access to pedestrians.
