Please find below a message regards the upcoming eight day, fire strike action (source CSSC).

Eight day FBU strike action

Following a fifteenth FBU strike on Thursday 10 July, a further eight days of consecutive strike action are planned from Monday 14 July as listed out below.

These two hour periods of strike action will take place early in the morning, during the evening and late at night. All businesses and public services are reminded to consider what additional plans, resources and control measures the you might need to take in your organisation during these periods of reduced fire cover to keep your work place safe for your staff and the public. There are several easy steps you can take to reduce calls to the fire service and the risk of fire:

Check business continuity plans;

Check the effectiveness of existing fire precautions;

Check staff are fully aware of fire and evacuation procedures;

Take appropriate steps to enhance staff vigilance;

Review arrangements for calling the emergency services;

Consider the need for additional staffing or patrols.

Monday 14 July 2014 from 0.600 hours until 14 July 2014 at 08.00 hours

Monday 14 July 2014 from 17.00 hours until 14 July 2014 at 19.00 hours

Tuesday 15 July 2014 from 06.00 hours until 15 July 2014 at 08.00 hours

Tuesday 15 July 2014 from 17.00 hours until 15 July 2014 at 19.00 hours

Wednesday 16 July 2014 from 0.600 hours until 16 July 2014 at 0.800 hours

Wednesday 16 July 2014 from 17.00 hours until 16 July 2014 at 19.00 hours

Thursday 17 July 2014 from 06.00 hours until 17 July 2014 at 08.00 hours

Thursday 17 July 2014 from 17.00 hours until 17 July 2014 at 19.00 hours

Friday 18 July 2014 from 06.00 hours until 18 July 2014 at 08.00 hours

Friday 18 July 2014 from 23.00 hours until 19 July 2014  at 01.00 hours

Saturday 19 July 2014 from 11.00 hours until 19 July 2014 at 13.00 hours

Saturday 19 July 2014 from 23.00 hours until 20 July 2014 at 01.00 hours

Sunday 20 July 2014 from 17.00 hours until 20 July 2014 at 19.00 hours

Monday 21 July 2014 from 06.00 hours  until 21 July 2014 at 08.00 hours

Monday 21 July 2014 from 17.00 hours until 21 July 2014 at 19.00 hours

London Fire Brigade Emergency Fire Contingency Crews (EFCC) will once again be in place at locations across the capital, ready to respond to 999 calls, but this is a reduced level of fire cover which is why you are reminded to take extra measures to prevent fires from starting.
